North Island Open Backgammon Tournament 2025

This is the 5th year that the North Island Champs have been hosted in Raglan. We pride ourselves on a relaxed tournament which provides for the most competitive, experienced players and those learners and social players.

Standard Swiss Format. Everyone is guaranteed to play at least 5 – seven-point Matches.

Friday, September 26th

Doubles Tournament (as done in Australia) for those who are keen to try something new. Knockout format. Starts at 3:00 PM.

Saturday, September 27th

Briefing at 9:30 AM. Play starts at 10:00 AM.

Sunday, September 28th

Top sixteen (16) players from the Swiss Format will play Knockout Matches to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Everyone else can play in the Plate tournament.

Tickets: $50.00 for all three days of play. Includes free entry into Friday’s Doubles Tournament. Only 64 tickets available. Good prizes for all the winners and Plate participants.
